Item-swap scam: the item gets switched

Scammers may agree to sell you a valuable weapon for a specific amount of tokens and claim they will list it in the in-game store for you to purchase. However, instead of listing the agreed item, they may quickly list a skin or another item with a similar name for the same price, hoping you purchase it without noticing.

For example, this has been seen with the Gravity Gun, where the scammer lists the Black Hole Gravity Gun skin instead of the actual weapon. Similar scams could also occur with other items that have similar names, such as the Ice Katana.

Some scammers may also try to pressure you into buying immediately by saying things like "buy it fast" or by surrounding the store with other players to make you feel rushed and less likely to double-check the item.

Warning Signs:

• The seller insists on selling through the in game boards and shops instead of trading
• They tell you to buy the item immediately
• The listed item has a similar name to the one you agreed to buy
• You feel pressured or rushed into making the purchase

How to Stay Safe:

• Always verify the exact item name before purchasing
• Never let anyone rush you into buying an item
• Carefully inspect every purchase, even if the name looks similar
• If anything seems suspicious, cancel the purchase
• Report and block users attempting to deceive others

Taking a few extra seconds to verify the item can prevent you from losing a large amount of tokens.
